In Christine's experience, yoga is immensely practical. She credits her yoga practice for flagging her priorities and keeping her (relatively) balanced and (relatively) sane in a world that often offers the opposite. As a mom of three amazing kids, Christine is continually impressed with how the complexities of 21st century parenting can be tempered and transformed through asana and breath.
Christine believes a successful yoga practice allows us to grow big enough to comfortably carry our contradictions, without losing sight of life's radiance. She is interested in the potential of the practice to dissolve our perceived limits and give us the courage to engage in the world with clear minds and open hearts. In her teaching, she uses her experience both on and off the mat to guide her students to a place of acceptance and self-discovery. Her Kids Yoga classes are a fun, safe place to explore yoga and breath through play, storytelling and laughter. Christine also teaches one-on-one therapeutic yoga to children with anxiety or sensory integration disorders.
Christine began her yoga studies at the Downward Dog and then continued with Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. She completed Advanced Teacher Training at Octopus Garden with Pat Harada Linfoot and Scott Davis and received her Pre/Post-natal training from Monica Voss. She is grateful to all her teachers for continually leading her to the doorways she needs to open.
