Erin realized that yoga would be a big part of her life while she was studying for her Masters of Public Health in Health Promotion and was struck by the role that yoga can play in the recovery and healing process for people with addiction and mental health issues.
Erin’s yoga practice began in Winnipeg, where she studied Iyengar yoga and discovered a particular love for all things alignment. Her practice deepened after moving to Toronto where, having completed her Masters degree, she continues to work in the field of mental health and to explore the connection between yoga and psychology. She has a deeply personal understanding that yoga can extend far beyond the physical and aims to incorporate yoga into future work as a therapist.
Erin has been teaching for over three years and has led a range of classes, including hot hatha yoga, vinyasa, and restorative. She is grateful to the teachers in her life: Sandra Stuart, Pat Harada Linfoot, her fellow teachers at Octopus Garden, and most definitely her students, who continue to teach her so much.
