Heather was introduced to yoga in 1997 following a back injury, when it was recommended as a way to manage her symptoms. What began as an intervention to heal the body eventually also became a way to calm the mind and nurture acceptance for what she was capable of on any given day, physically and mentally, on and off the mat.
Heather completed her 200-hour teacher training at OM Yoga Center in Manhattan. She is a graduate of Octopus Garden’s 300-hour Effective Teacher Training Program and 40-hour restorative training. Heather is also a registered physiotherapist, medical acupuncture provider, and Thai massage practitioner.
Drawing on her knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics, the sequencing that Heather creates for her classes is intelligent and mindful of safe alignment, while always emphasizing the dance of breath with movement. She strives to empower her students within an environment that is grounded, accessible, and of course, fun.
