Liberation Lounge on the Road
with YuMee Chung, Jay Andrews, Lucy Panko & Scott Peterson
— February 29 - March 7, 2020
Liberation Lounge is flying the coop and migrating to southern Thailand’s breathtaking Khao Sok National Park for a week of organic freestyle vinyasa yoga deep in the jungle. Our destination is a wildlife sanctuary in the world’s oldest evergreen forest, and your home for the week is a floating bamboo hut on a pristine freshwater lake encircled by soaring limestone cliffs.
Our plan is to practice in concert with nature and to weave the many strands of yoga together with live music by Scott Peterson and Jay Andrews. In addition to exploring a fluid and dynamic asana practice, you can expect to delve deeply into the richness of yogic philosophy, mantra, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra, and nada yoga, the practice of deep inner listening.
Daily life will revolve around open-air yoga classes with YuMee Chung (supported by assistant Lucy Panko) in a floating yoga studio, delicious organic meals, Thai-style bodywork, bathing in the lake, kayaking, jungle trekking, caving, stargazing, and connecting deeply to the rhythms of nature. The goal is to unplug and go deep in one of the most breathtaking places on earth. Though this retreat is conveniently located in the middle of nowhere—remote, off-grid and totally wild—we’ll be sure to care for you in all the ways that matter.
Ever wonder where yoga teachers go to unwind? Find out firsthand next March at our intimate spa retreat in Southern Thailand. Tamarind Springs Forest Spa is one of those places we like to speak about in hushed tones, lest it be discovered by the masses. It’s our spa destination of choice in South East Asia; the place where those-in-the-know go to relax, commune with nature and receive some of the very best bodywork in the world.
Located just steps away from Lamai Beach on the east coast of Koh Samui, and bordering the island’s tropical forest interior, this stunning eco-luxe spa was built with deep love and respect for the island’s unique landscape. Pools and steam caves are nestled between immense granite boulders, yoga and massage pavilions look out over the forest canopy, and villas embody the very best of indoor-outdoor living. With only a handful of architecturally unique villas on offer, this is as boutique an experience as you can get.
They call it the Island of the Gods, and no place is more deserving of its nickname than Bali, Indonesia. Sure, this tropical paradise is blessed with incomparable beauty and natural assets that include lush jungle, active volcanos, world-class beaches, and spectacular coral reefs, but a retreat to Bali is so much more than just yoga in a gorgeous setting. It’s the island’s deep-rooted spirituality and unique living, breathing culture that set it far apart from the more than 17,000 other islands that make up the Indonesian Archipelago. The Balinese traditions and the people dedicated to celebrating them will touch you in unexpected ways and will awaken you to the beauty, magic and spirit that infuse every moment.
