They call it the Island of the Gods, and no place is more deserving of its nickname than Bali, Indonesia. Sure, this tropical paradise is blessed with incomparable beauty and natural assets that include lush jungle, active volcanos, world-class beaches, and spectacular coral reefs, but a retreat to Bali is so much more than just yoga in a gorgeous setting. It’s the island’s deep-rooted spirituality and unique living, breathing culture that set it far apart from the more than 17,000 other islands that make up the Indonesian Archipelago. The Balinese traditions and the people dedicated to celebrating them will touch you in unexpected ways and will awaken you to the beauty, magic and spirit that infuse every moment.
We have timed our retreat to include Neypi, the Balinese Day of Silence and self-reflection. The quietest day of the year follows a period of purification that includes colourful ceremonies and the cultural spectacle of the Ogoh-Ogoh parade. We have arranged for you to experience this festival, not as a tourist, but as a local in a vibrant fishing village with our Balinese friends. This is truly the insider’s Bali and it will be a trip of a lifetime.
This retreat with Pat and YuMee will bring you deep into the heart of your practice. Morning sessions will build strength and heat while introducing new skills. Late afternoon sessions will offer restorative and therapeutic practices focused on breath and self-care. Beginners, seasoned practitioners, and everyone in-between will receive the kind of personal attention and patient instruction that catalyzes personal breakthroughs and supports lasting change. Come fall in love with Bali and fall in love all over again with the sacred ritual of daily practice.
