Teachers

Dedicated to meeting individuals’ needs, studio owners Scott Davis, Pat Harada Linfoot, and JP Tamblyn encourage students to find alignment and form in an eclectic practice that combines attention to detail with breath and flowing vinyasa.

Our view is that yoga is a practice for life. In this spirit we offer our classes as a forum for individual evolution and exploration.

Scott Davis

Scott

Scott is a renowned yoga teacher and doctor of oriental medicine who approaches yoga as an evolving form and health maintenance system. His unique integration of eastern healing traditions inspires and enriches the practice of both new and experienced students. Scott is particularly interested in yoga as a tool to support 'awakening' and as a system to harness and integrate the potential of the human body, intellect and spirit. In addition to his ongoing classes as co-owner and director of Octopus Garden Yoga Centre, Scott holds dozens of specialized workshops, international retreats, and operates a full time clinical practice of oriental medicine. Scott lives in Toronto with his wife Christine and their three children, Ruby, Theo and Niko.

Pat Harada Linfoot

Pat

Pat sees the practice of yoga as an opportunity for physical, psychological and spiritual inquiry. In her classes, she encourages students to reach beyond perceived limits with passion and humour. Themes from eastern philosophy, psychology, and everyday experience inform her teaching. Pat is currently writing a book on themes and sequences with fellow yoga teacher, Janet Nicol. She continues to teach classes, workshops, and retreats, to mentor and train teachers and to co-direct Octopus Garden Yoga Centre. Pat is grateful to all of her teachers, past and present.

JP Tamblyn

JP

With a passion for understanding and communicating the workings of the body and the mind in yoga practice, JP presents his instruction with a clarity that helps further his students' journey on the path to well-being and self-realization. He feels honoured to have had the opportunity to study with such exceptional teachers as Chuck Miller & Maty Ezraty, Eddie Modestini & Nicki Doane, Dharma Mittra, as well as his first teachers, Diane Bruni & Ron Reid.
