Joe Ryan completed his Massage Therapy training at Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic in Toronto, Ontario, very soon after completing both a BA in Philosophy and a BMus in Music Performance. His long-standing interest in anatomy, physiology, and bodywork was always a personal pursuit until deciding to embark on becoming a Massage Therapist.
Joe is an avid drummer, rock climber, and golfer, and most of the energy he puts toward his own health is through body weight exercise and stretching which stems from his past as a competitive gymnast. His understanding of bodywork is a result of academic study, healing from injury, and participation in activities that demand close attention to the mechanics of human movement and posture.
As a Massage Therapist, Joe enjoys using deep tissue and fascial work, integrating dynamic and joint mobilization techniques, and focusing intently on delivering a well-rounded and relaxing session. Joe places a high priority on utilizing a holistic approach toward the treatment of old injuries, pathologies, postural faults, the effects of stress and anxiety, and even poor biomechanics in everyday activities. Joe’s aim with his work is to assist his clients with tuning into their body and living without pain.
He is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) as well as a member of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario (RMTAO).
