Lindsay Dixon is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (D.O.M.P, D.Sc.O), Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT(C)), and Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin). She has over ten years of experience working in the field of sports medicine and health and wellness.
As an osteopathic manual practitioner she has particular interest in the interconnection between the mind and body. Her thesis assessed the efficacy of osteopathy as an adjunctive treatment in individuals suffering from moderate to severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Lindsay’s preventative philosophy is in line with the teachings of Osteopathy helping to remove restrictions for the body to restore health and allow the body to function at its best, coupled with her expertise in functional based movement and exercise prescription into her practice. Lindsay works with all individuals or all ages and abilities.
Lindsay is an avid runner and has extensive experience working with recreational and competitive athletes. She worked as an Athletic Therapist at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto 2015 with gymnastics, racquetball, squash and trampoline events. She was part of the medical team for wheelchair basketball at the Invictus games held in Toronto in September 2017.
What to Expect in the Initial Consultation
An initial assessment with Lindsay involves a health history intake and discussion of current health symptoms and goals, observation of posture, and a hands-on physical assessment through palpation and gentle mobility testing of various body structures to evaluate joint biomechanics, tissue restrictions, tone and mobility. Following the assessment, a treatment plan and recommendations are discussed
