What does the Right2Yoga mean?

Many low income and marginalized communities are unable to access yoga and meditation due to financial hardship, among other barriers. The practices of yoga and meditation can provide skills for managing anxiety, stress and trauma, allowing people to reconnect with their bodies and discover a safe place for healing. The Right2Yoga offers free, accessible, trauma sensitive, and anti-oppression informed classes, creating a welcoming space for all.

Why yoga and meditation?

Research shows that the practices of yoga and meditation can provide skills for managing anxiety, stress and trauma. Often people who have experienced trauma experience disconnection from their bodies. Yoga and meditation can allow people to begin to reconnect with their bodies and discover a safe place for healing. It can offer individuals new ways to grapple with trauma, navigate life challenges and combat oppression from a place of strength.
